Zenith is an IBS-smart food, supplement, and personal care ingredient grader. The app is built to collect as little as possible.
Camera
The camera is used only to scan a barcode or photograph a Supplement Facts, Nutrition Facts, or ingredient label. Barcodes are read on the phone. On Android and iPhone, a label photo is sent to Google's Gemini model to read the printed name and ingredients (see below). Label photos are not sold or used for ads, and Zenith keeps no copy on a server of its own.
What stays on the phone
Scan history, favorites, grading preferences, and the count of AI scans used this month are stored on the device. Zenith does not require an account. We do not sell or rent scan logs or dietary preferences.
What leaves the phone
All of it travels over HTTPS.
- Barcode lookups. When a barcode is not in the built-in catalog, its number is sent to Open Food Facts (world.openfoodfacts.org) to fetch that product's published ingredient list. No account, name, or location is sent with it.
- AI label reading and name search. On both Android and iPhone, a label photo, a typed product name, or pasted ingredient text is sent to Google's Gemini model through Google Firebase AI Logic, which returns the label text or a grade. Google processes it under its paid Gemini API terms, which do not let Google use it to improve its products; Google may keep it for a limited time to detect abuse.
- App verification. To show that a request comes from the genuine Zenith app, the app uses Firebase App Check: Google Play Integrity on Android and Apple App Attest on iPhone. Google receives an attestation about the app installation and device, not your scans or history.
The Zenith app includes no advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting software, and does not track you across apps or websites.
This website
aizenith.net uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page visits and to see which links bring people here, such as the links on Wren’s pages at grades.aizenith.net. It sets no cookies and stores nothing that identifies you. The app sends nothing to it.
Subscriptions
Plus and Pro are subscriptions bought through Google Play or the Apple App Store. They handle payment; the app only learns which plan is active and when it started, and never sees your card or account details. The count of AI scans used is kept on the phone and is not sent anywhere. See the subscription terms.
Children
Zenith is a general wellness and nutrition education app aimed at adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
